First aid

the perfect first-aid kit for your horse

After chatting with our veterinarian friends, we know what we need for any emergency that may occur in the stable with our favorite companions, and after all... what's more important than their health?

Well, we won't keep you waiting any longer... let's start the "checklist" so that nothing is missing from your first-aid kit, although we warn you that you should start reading it with your favorite gloves already in hand! If we want to achieve deep cleaning or treat an infection, we must prioritize hygiene above all else.

First on our list, we want to name the best disinfecting agents for wounds. Chlorhexidine is a basic, and if it's in soap form, even better. You can also use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol, although we always recommend the first option, as it is not as aggressive on our horse's skin, or even saline solution which helps dilute disinfectants or clean eyes.

Remember! You must change sponges, towels, or any cleaning utensils you use for each cleaning and also for each change of area. Do not use the same sponge for eyes as for nostrils, for example.

Ointments like furacin and blastoestimulin are your other skin allies that, in addition to helping with disinfection, prevent attacks from annoying flies.

Secondly, if we need to treat larger wounds, we can rely on bandages such as cohesive ones, always using gauze in between for greater protection.

Let's continue!

A thermometer to check your horse's temperature. This is very useful information if we feel that he is acting more lethargic than usual or we notice he is tired. Always with a little bit of Vaseline, we will make this situation more bearable for the animal.

And last but not least, accessories that allow us to treat wounds, bruises, or chafing more efficiently. These are scissors, adhesive tape, and cold bandages for the extremities.

We must always keep in mind that despite how prepared we may be, in more serious situations we must always be in contact with our veterinarian and monitor our horse, its training, and diet to prevent and offer it an excellent quality of life!

With this, you can feel 100% prepared!

All that's left is to enjoy our battle companion!

Greetings to all!
