Good morning!
My name is Paula Azofra García, and I am delighted to stop by the Empire Sapphire Blog today to tell you a little bit about the daily life of a professional rider.
For those who don't know me, I am 32 years old and from Vitoria (Basque Country).
I am currently professionally involved in equestrianism, although it hasn't always been that way.
Today, I have my own farm where I raise and train my horses, my clients' horses, and also where I give lessons.
My brother and mother, for as long as I can remember, practiced riding, so I followed in their footsteps. That world fascinated me: I always knew that horses drove me crazy.
Until just four years ago, it was simply a hobby. Since then, it has become not only my lifestyle but also my profession. I dedicate most of my time to my horses and their training.
I travel around Spain to participate in as many competitions as possible. I currently have four horses in competition, raised by my family... something that excites us greatly.
It's hard to raise a horse, and it's a long journey; but when you leave the arena, the satisfaction is immense.
This profession requires a lot of sacrifice; but at the same time, it's so beautiful... especially the part where you have to be 100% involved to get to know the horse and for it to get to know you. To build such trust that it creates a winning partnership. That's what I like most about competing with horses I've raised myself... you get to know every movement, every reaction from when they're little... and especially how they act freely with others. That says a lot about them.
Consistency and patience are important if you want to achieve anything in this world; but above all, you need a lot of enthusiasm. To have passion and work for it.
Before I say goodbye, I would like to thank Empire Sapphire Equestrian, which, despite being a recent brand, strives, works, and supports riders with great enthusiasm.
I myself debuted one of their NEON Line jackets in the last competition (I'll leave a photo) and I'm delighted. The sporty yet elegant style, with a beautiful variety of colors. I'm sure they will go far!
Greetings and a big kiss to all of you, guys and girls!
